Cut my grocery bill by $80 a month after one change

Last month I started buying store brand staples instead of name brands at the Kroger in Nashville. I figured I'd save maybe $20 but my total dropped by $80 on the first month. The flour and sugar taste exactly the same to me, not gonna lie. I still grab name brand for things like ketchup where I notice a difference. Anyone else made a switch like this and got a bigger drop than you expected?

Honestly I used to think name brands were always better but this is making me rethink everything.

fr my whole life I thought paying extra meant you were just getting better quality lmao. but nah turns out some of these cheap brands are literally made in the same factory just with different packaging. feels like I've been getting scammed for years honestly.
