Hit my 10 year savings goal 3 years early without realizing it

I was just checking my accounts for fun and saw the number I had written down back in 2014 as my "stretch target" was already passed. Still can't believe sticking to a simple 50/30/20 split actually worked out that fast. Anyone else hit a milestone way sooner than you expected?

Stretch target" from 2014 is what got me. That is wild, like you threw a dart at a board from a decade away and it somehow landed perfect. I am genuinely impressed, I would still be trying to figure out what my 50/30/20 even means.

Look, calling something a "stretch target" a decade out just means you picked a big number and got lucky. It's not impressive, it's basically a lottery ticket you forgot about.
