It took a $47 grocery receipt for me to finally get it.

Ngl, I used to just grab whatever looked good at the store and never once checked what I already had at home until I saw that total and realized half of it was stuff I already had going bad in the fridge. Has anyone else had that one receipt that just made them stop and rethink their whole system?

Last month I finally tallied up my spice cabinet and found 4 jars of cumin and 3 of paprika, all bought at different times because I kept forgetting I had them. That $57 receipt for mostly condiments and herbs I already owned was the kicker for me. Now I make a quick photo of the pantry shelves before I leave for the store and it's saved me at least $30 a week.

Was never a receipt checker until that happened to me too.
