Just wasted $40 on a budgeting app that was basically a fancy spreadsheet

I thought it would help me track everything automatically, but it needed so much manual entry I gave up after a week. Has anyone found a free tool that actually saves time?

Tried that, now just use a plain spreadsheet honestly.

Check your bank's website first (they often have free tools built in).

@fox.simon nailed it, spreadsheets are free and way less hassle than those apps.
