My brother in law said my grocery list was why we overspent every month
My brother in law stayed with us for two weeks last month and watched me shop with a list on my phone that just said things like "snacks" and "stuff for dinners." He asked me how I knew what I already had at home, and I honestly did not have a good answer. So I started writing down what was already in the pantry before I left the house, and we cut our grocery bill from about $620 to $410 in one month. It feels a little silly that a simple list of what is already there made that much difference. Has anyone else tried shopping against what is already in the house instead of just a meal plan?
