My grocery budget blew up last Tuesday at the Kroger on Elm Street when I forgot my list and bought $40 of random stuff, so I went back the next day and returned everything except the milk and bread.

Has anyone else ever done a full return like that to fix a budget slip, or is that too extreme?

You said it felt a little weird taking it all back. Did that feeling go away once you got the money, or do you still think about it sometimes?

Man, that's commitment. I once bought a whole cart of fancy cheeses and crackers for a party that got canceled last minute. Took it all back the next day. Felt a little weird, but the store didn't care. Saved me like sixty bucks. Honestly, if you're on a tight budget, you gotta do what you gotta do. No shame in it at all.

No shame at all. I've done the same thing with party stuff before, it's just smart when you're watching your wallet. Good for you for not letting that money go to waste.
