Overheard a cashier say budgeting is just 'not buying stuff'...
I was in line at the grocery store and this cashier told her coworker that budgeting is just about not buying things you want. That really rubbed me the wrong way. Budgeting for me is more about deciding what matters most, like paying off my $2000 credit card bill last month felt way better than grabbing takeout three times a week. Has anyone else had someone totally miss the point of what budgeting actually is?

Tell that cashier to try explaining that to my credit card company so they stop charging me interest.

Oh, that's such a real frustration. I've noticed this whole thing where every part of life is run by some automated system that doesn't talk to the other automated systems. We end up stuck in the middle having to smooth things over between machines that don't listen.
