Picked a $30 rice cooker over a $150 instant pot

I cook rice maybe 4 times a week and kept seeing people rave about instant pots for meal prep. Grabbed a basic Aroma brand cooker from Walmart instead and after 6 months, it still makes perfect rice without all the settings I'd never use. Has anyone else skipped the multi-cooker hype and stuck with a single purpose gadget?

My rice cooker does one thing and I still manage to burn rice...

Are you me? Because I do the exact same thing with my little Zojirushi (which is supposed to be the "good" one) and it's honestly embarrassing. Just last week I put in jasmine rice, hit the button, walked away for 20 minutes, and came back to a burnt crust on the bottom that smelled like a campfire. I swear the thing has a mind of its own or maybe I'm just not listening to it properly (probably the second one).
