Pro tip: I thought the 'cash envelope' thing was silly until I tried it for groceries last month.
Putting $200 in an envelope made me stop buying random snacks... saved almost $40. Anyone have other simple tricks that actually work?

Honestly the envelope thing works weirdly well for takeout too. I mean idk maybe it's just me but seeing the actual money leave my hand makes me pause. Last week I had a pizza envelope and ended up making a grilled cheese instead because the cash was already set aside for Friday. Felt kind of silly but the money stayed in the envelope.
