Pro tip: my $3 'budget' haircut at home was a disaster lol
I tried to save cash by trimming my own bangs with kitchen scissors, and now I look like I got into a fight with a lawnmower. Has anyone actually pulled off a decent DIY haircut, or should I just accept the salon fee?

Fight with a lawnmower" is the perfect way to put it. I saw a video once where someone said the only safe DIY cut is trimming split ends, and even that's risky. I'm sticking to professionals after my own kitchen scissor incident.

My cousin tried trimming her own bangs last year, @ruby_gonzalez. She ended up with these tiny, jagged pieces above her eyebrows. It took six months for them to grow back to a normal length. I don't even trust myself with split ends anymore because I get scissor happy. That kitchen scissor incident you mentioned sounds exactly like something I would do. Some things are just better left to the people who went to school for it.

Yeah, the trick is to only cut when your hair is dry, never wet. Wet hair shrinks up and you always take off way more than you meant to.
