Serious question, why does everyone say the cash envelope system beats a simple spreadsheet?
I tried envelopes for 3 months and kept losing track of $20 here and there, but a plain Google Sheet with one tab took me 10 minutes a week and caught a $260 overspend in groceries I never would have seen with cash. Am I missing something, or is the envelope thing just louder online?

Track the cash in your sheet too and you get the best of both.
