Showerthought: I picked a $200 monthly bus pass over a $450 car payment

My old car died in Seattle, and I had to choose between financing a new one or trying public transit full time. I went with the bus pass, and after 3 months, I've saved over $750 on gas and insurance alone. Has anyone else made a big switch like this and found hidden costs or benefits I should watch for?

Did the same thing in Chicago last year. Found I was walking way more, which was a nice bonus. Ever notice you get sick less often without being in a germ box all day?
