He told me he spends that much because he refuses to eat fast food after a health scare last spring, and I realized I've been spending $50 a week on drive-thru meals that are slowly killing my wallet and my health. How do you balance a cheap food budget with actually eating decent stuff?

Oh man, I actually think air fryers are more honest than microwaves in a way. At least the air fryer is still using hot air to crisp things up, it's not like it's doing anything magical or hidden. It's basically a tiny convection oven on steroids, not cheating the system, it's just speeding up the same process.
