The stat that made me ditch my 'treat myself' coffee habit for good

I was scrolling through the Mint app and noticed I spent $87 on coffee last month alone. That's over a grand a year just for caffeine hits. Found out the average American spends $1,100 annually on coffee shop drinks, according to a 2023 Acorns report. Has anyone else run the numbers and been shocked by some hidden habit cost?

Wow, that hurts to read because same here, I was shocked when my $5 daily chai added up to over $1,500 in a year!

Wait, does that mean I need to get a second job just to fund my coffee habit? I did the math on my own latte obsession and pretty much cried into my cup when I saw the total. And what's worse is I don't even feel like I'm getting a deal, it's just a daily treat I can't seem to quit. At least we're in the same boat, drowning in expensive warm milk together! I'm starting to think my local coffee shop knows my order by heart and is secretly laughing at my bank account.
