Vent: Heard a guy at the hardware store say budgeting is for people who can't make real money
Just overheard this dude bragging to his friend about dropping $400 on a single tool he didn't even need, then he said budgeting is for people who can't make real money. I was standing right there holding my $20 pipe cutter I had to save for two weeks, felt like a total idiot for a second. But honestly, isn't knowing where your cash goes more winning than flexing with debt? Anybody else get this kind of judgment from people?

Bet Tom's brother-in-law still thinks he's winning while eating ramen.

My buddy Tom makes six figures and still clips coupons for groceries. His brother-in-law made fun of him at a family barbecue, said real men don't worry about a few bucks. Two years later Tom bought a house with cash while his brother-in-law's truck got repossessed. That story always pops in my head when I hear stuff like that.
