Found my first bullet journal from 2014 this weekend

I was cleaning out my desk drawer and stumbled across my very first bullet journal from almost 10 years ago. It was just a plain dotted notebook I picked up at Target for like $8. Flipping through it, I remembered how simple I kept things back then - just a basic index and daily logs. Now I look at my current journal with color coded spreads and habit trackers and wonder how I got so extra about it all. Do you guys ever look back at your early journals and miss how minimal they were?

Ugh right there with you. I dug out my first journal from 2015 last month and it was literally just dates and random thoughts scribbled in pen. No washi tape, no stickers, no fancy calligraphy headers. Just pure chaos and I loved it honestly. Now I have a whole drawer of highlighters and stencils and I still feel like my spreads are never good enough. Sometimes I think we just get caught up in making it look pretty instead of actually using it for what it's meant for.
