Hit 30 journal spreads in my notebook yesterday

I counted them up last night. 30 spreads over 4 months. That's a new record for me. I always fall off around spread 15 before. This time I stuck with it by keeping it dead simple. Just a monthly log and daily tasks. No fancy doodles or trackers. Anyone else hit a personal milestone like that?

Hell yeah, that "dead simple" approach is the whole secret. I did the same thing. Quit trying to make every spread a work of art. Just a date, the weather, and three tasks. Boom. Now I'm at 28 spreads in about 5 months, and it's the first time I haven't abandoned the whole notebook in March. It's like the less I try to make it perfect, the more I actually want to do it.

@the_tara I gotta disagree. The whole point of a journal is to make it your own, not strip it down to a bullet list. Fancy doodles and trackers are what keep me going. If it's just dates and tasks, that's a planner, not a journal.

28 spreads in 5 months? That's wild to me. I feel like I'd lose track of what day it was if I skipped the doodles and colors. For me, the whole point of a journal is the messy stuff, the watercolor blobs and stickers that make each page feel like mine. But hey, if it works for you and you're actually sticking with it, I can't knock it. I just don't think I could do a journal that looks like a to-do list every day.
