I finally caved and tried a monthly log layout I saw on Pinterest
For like 2 years I did weekly spreads only, thought monthly logs were a waste of space. Then I had a packed October with 3 birthdays, a dentist visit, and a work deadline all in the same week, and my weekly spread got too cluttered. I tried a simple vertical monthly layout with a task list on the side, and now I get why people swear by it. Anyone else have a layout they resisted but now use every month?

Three birthdays and a dentist visit in the same week? That's basically a nightmare scenario, I would have ended up missing half of it in my old weekly spread. Your small boxes would have been a tiny scribble mess with no room for the actual party details. That vertical monthly setup sounds like a lifesaver though, especially with the task list separate. I might actually steal that idea for next month because my current system is barely holding together.
