Migration week gone wrong, my index took a hit

I moved my whole journal from a Leuchtturm to a cheaper A5 notebook last Sunday and completely forgot to copy my future log into the new one. By Wednesday I'd missed two project deadlines and a dentist appointment because I only had the old book in my bag. I spent Thursday night redoing it all with a highlighter and post-its, but now my weekly spread has three different ink colors and it's driving me crazy. Has anyone else botched a mid-year migration like this, or do you have a system to double check what gets moved?

Keep a checklist taped inside the front cover of the new notebook. Just list the stuff that has to move: future log, birthdays, bill due dates, project lists. Before you pack the old one away, walk through the list line by line. I did the same stupid thing last year with my appointments, so now I also take a photo of the old spreads before I close the book. That way I can check on my phone if I'm not sure something made the jump. The ink color thing will bug you for a week, then you'll forget about it. Just make peace with it and move on.
