My sister said bullet journaling is just making a fancy to-do list.
She saw my weekly spread and said it looked like a waste of time to draw boxes and lines. It really got me thinking about how people who don't do it just don't get the whole system part, the way it helps my brain. Do you ever have to explain the real point of your bujo to someone?

Honestly, is your sister's to-do list just a sad napkin? Tbh the boxes are what keep my brain from being a total mess.

But what if the mess is where the good ideas actually come from? All that structure can just kill the fun of it.

What if the drawing IS the point for some people? My brain needs that quiet time with pens to even figure out what goes on the to-do list. It's like @paul_stone29 said, the boxes stop the mess, but for me it's the act of making them that clears my head first. Someone just seeing a fancy list misses how the whole process from blank page to filled boxes actually works. That system part is what turns chaos into something you can manage.
