Spent 8 months putting my future log in the wrong spot

I always stuck my future log at the very front of the notebook, right after the index. Figured that's where future stuff goes. Then last week I flipped past about 40 blank pages trying to find a note from March and realized my monthly spreads were burying everything. If I put the future log at the back of the book instead, I'd hit my current month way faster. Has anyone else found a better layout for where to tuck the future log?

I mean, wait - 40 blank pages? That's wild, I honestly can't wrap my head around that. I've been putting my future log at the front for years too but I only leave maybe 6 pages blank before the monthly stuff starts. You must have some serious future planning going on if you need 40 pages of buffer. Maybe it's just me but I'd probably just start a new notebook at that point rather than flip through all that dead space.

Wait, did you try putting it on a sticky note stuck to the inside back cover instead?
