Switched from monthly spreads to rolling weekly after 2 years, total game changer
I kept forcing those big monthly calendar spreads every single month and I hated them. They looked pretty but I never used them. Last month I finally tried the rolling weekly layout where you just list tasks in a simple column and migrate them day to day. Huge difference. My monthly spreads had 28 blank boxes every time, now I actually write things down because there's no pressure to fill a whole grid. The habit finally stuck after I stopped making it artsy. Has anyone else ditched the pretty spreads for pure function? What did you switch FROM that was holding you back?

Funny enough, switching to rolling weeklies made me realize my whole issue was the opposite. I used to do bare-bones daily lists, super plain, and I got so bored I'd stop writing anything by Wednesday. Then I tried decorating a weekly spread with washi tape and little doodles, just for fun, and suddenly I actually looked forward to filling it in. So now I'm doing kind of a hybrid, functional layout but with a ridiculous amount of stickers. It's silly, but it works because I stopped treating my planner like a chore and started treating it like a tiny art project. Guess we both found our thing, just from different directions.
