Talked to a librarian about my spread setup
She showed me her index system with color coded tabs. I always thought it was overkill but now I see how fast she finds stuff. Has anyone else had a random person change how you journal?

okay but I feel like if you need that much organizing to journal, you're kinda missing the point. I mean, color coded tabs and indexes? That's more like filing taxes than writing down your thoughts. Journals are supposed to be messy sometimes, you know? half the fun is flipping through and finding something you forgot you wrote. I tried a system once and it just stressed me out more than it helped.

Yo honestly PREACH! When I see those bullet journal spreads on Instagram with the washi tape and perfect handwriting I just roll my eyes. The whole point is to dump your brain out not make it look like a Pinterest board. My journal has coffee stains and crossed out sentences and half of it is unreadable scribbles. That's the good stuff, man. If you're spending more time picking out highlighters than actually writing you're doing it backwards.
