Tried using a single pen for a whole month and my spreads got way simpler

I usually have like 8 pens in my pencil case for all my color coding and doodles. Last month I decided to do everything with just a black Pilot G2 for 30 days. I thought I'd miss the colors but honestly my brain felt less cluttered. The spreads got cleaner and I actually stuck with the habit longer than usual. Turns out having too many choices was slowing me down. Has anyone else tried a minimalist pen setup for their journal?

Did you find it harder to resist doodling without having colored pens handy?

Respectfully disagree with you @amyr57, I actually doodle more with just a plain black pen since there's no pressure to make it look good.
