Why does nobody mention the dot grid spacing when picking a new journal?

I bought a 5mm dot grid journal from Walmart for $8 last month and hated it after 3 days. Then I found a 4mm one at Michaels for $12 and it's night and day for my weekly spreads. With 5mm, I could only fit 6 boxes across a page, which wrecked my habit tracker layout. The 4mm gives me 8 boxes and everything actually lines up with my ruler. I even counted the dots on both to be sure, 32 across vs 40 across. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just picky about my grids?
