Almost lost a hand to a dull bandsaw blade last Tuesday

I was pushing a leg of lamb through and the blade grabbed it instead of cutting. Threw the meat right back at me and the kickback nearly pinned my fingers. Has anyone else had close calls with old blades that you thought were fine?

I mean, I get what you're saying about old blades, but a dull blade grabbing meat like that is usually more about feed speed than sharpness. A sharp blade actually cuts cleaner and is less likely to snatch things out of your hands in my experience. Might be worth checking your technique first before blaming the blade entirely.

Nah, a sharp blade digging into frozen or half-thawed meat is way more dangerous if you slip. Dull blades might snag more but sharp ones slice through skin like butter when you lose control.
