Cooler fan died on my walk-in at 2pm Friday

The condenser fan on my walk-in cooler seized up during the lunch rush last Friday in Columbus, Ohio. I had to move everything into the reach-in and a borrowed truck fridge while I found a replacement motor. Anyone else keep a spare fan motor on hand or do you just eat the overnight loss when this happens?

Its wild how we all run the same operation where one little $60 part can shut the whole thing down. I used to think keeping spares for stuff like that was just overkill, but then my ice machine compressor went out on a Sunday and I spent the whole day driving around town like a maniac. Now I keep a small shelf in the back with a fan motor, a contactor, and a thermostat, costs less than a single delivery fee for a part on an emergency call. Lesson i learned is that in this business the cheapest insurance is just having the common stuff already sitting there before the panic starts.
