Hit exactly 1,000 pounds of ground beef processed in a single shift last Friday
I've been running the grinder for about 12 years now and never really kept track of totals. But last Friday we had a big order come in from a local restaurant chain and I ended up grinding 40 rolls of chuck trim and some sirloin ends. When I cleaned up and added up the weight tags it came out to exactly 1,000 pounds on the nose. Felt kind of satisfying honestly. Has anyone else ever had a weird milestone like that sneak up on you?

Man, that is SO satisfying when it all lines up like that. I've had it happen once with chicken wings, hit 500 pounds exactly on a Friday before a holiday weekend and I still think about it. Just make sure you're keeping a log book or a simple spreadsheet now, because once you start tracking, you'll notice all kinds of weird patterns. Also, double check your scale calibration on days like that, I once had a bad load cell and it read heavy for a whole week before I caught it. But yeah, 1,000 on the nose is a good omen, makes the cleanup feel less like a chore.

Oh man, that whole thing about patterns is so true. Once you start paying attention to numbers, you see weird stuff everywhere, not just on scales. Like how the microwave always lands on 1:11 or the gas tank hits empty on the same road every time. It makes you wonder if the universe is just trolling us or if our brains are wired to find order in the mess, you know? But the scale calibration thing is solid advice, I had a friend who spent a whole month wondering why his batches were off, turned out the floor was slightly uneven. Anyway, congrats on the clean number, that's the kind of tiny win that keeps you going on the boring days.
