Tried trimming a whole ribeye primal with a curved blade for the first time

Ended up taking me twice as long as usual and I gouged three steaks before I switched back to my straight knife. Any of you guys find curved blades actually worth the learning curve or is it just a gimmick?

Yeah I tried a curved blade once and totally wrecked more meat than I saved.

Wrecked more meat than I saved" is the real issue here. Most people focus on blade shape but ignore how hard they're pressing down. If you let the knife do the work with a light touch, even a curved blade won't wreck as much.
