Checked out the new burger spot on Maple Avenue and the reviews were way off
I went to The Griddle on Maple Avenue last night because all the online reviews said the bacon cheeseburger was amazing. Mine showed up with cold, floppy bacon and the bun was totally stale. I paid $16 for it and left feeling pretty ripped off. How do places get so many good reviews when the food is just not good?

Read an article about how some places use review farms overseas. They pay people a few cents to write fake positive reviews in bulk. Makes sense when you see a new spot with 200 five star reviews but the parking lot is always empty. The whole system feels broken. I just look for the two and three star reviews now, they usually tell the real story.

Ever notice how everything feels fake now? Reviews, social media, even basic stuff. It's all just marketing. People get free meals for five star reviews. Or the owner's friends flood the site. Makes it impossible to trust anything online anymore. You have to just go and get burned to find out what's real.
