Finally gave in on a $60 rice cooker after years of stovetop loyalty

I used to think rice cookers were just extra clutter, you know? Always did mine in a pot and it came out fine most days. But then I moved to a shared place in Tacoma last month and the stove there heats so unevenly, I burned two batches in a row. Roommate let me borrow her cheap 3-cup cooker just to see, and honestly, the rice came out perfect every single time without me hovering. So I grabbed a basic one for $60 and now I get why people push these things. The timing is what got me, it frees up my burner for the stir fry and I don't have to babysit anything. Still feels a little lazy, but the results speak for themselves. Anyone else switch over after swearing you never would? How long until you trusted it for big dinners?
