Honestly, I left a one-star review for a local cafe and the owner called me
Tbh I wrote it because my latte was cold and the service was slow last Tuesday. The owner apologized, offered me a free drink, and explained they were training a new barista. Has anyone else had a business actually reach out after a negative review?

It's kind of wild when they actually call... makes the review feel so much more personal than just text on a screen. A food truck guy once texted me a photo of his new fridge thermometer after I mentioned lukewarm chicken. Felt bad for the bad review but also... he fixed the actual problem, you know? That stuff matters more than a freebie sometimes.
