Lesson learned after buying a cheap electric kettle on Amazon

I grabbed a $15 kettle last month because my old one died and I needed something fast. The reviews looked fine like 4 stars with 200 ratings. Turned out half the good reviews were from people who got it free in exchange for posting. The thing started rusting inside after 3 weeks. Has anyone else gotten burned by those review swap groups?

Some of those cheap kettles really do have quality control issues though.

And my cheap $12 kettle from Target is still going strong after 2 years. You probably just got unlucky with a bad batch. Most people don't have time to farm fake reviews, they just want hot water. The rust thing sounds like you left water sitting in it for days which nobody should do with any kettle.
