Star ratings mean nothing when the seller has 3 reviews total

I kept buying from people with 4.9 stars and getting junk. Then I noticed the pattern. All those perfect scores came from sellers with under 10 sales. Last month I filtered for sellers with at least 50 reviews and ignored the stars almost completely. Turned out better in every single order. Has anyone else stopped trusting the score and started checking the count first?
