Thought those $60 'premium' HDMI cables would save me, ended up burning me instead

I bought a fancy $60 HDMI cable thinking it'd fix my 4K signal drops, but it did nothing different from the $10 one. Turns out the issue was my old receiver all along. Anyone else wasted money on cables when the real problem was somewhere else?

A digital signal either works or it doesn't, so that $60 cable was just a fancier copper wire.
