TIL the local art supply store on Main St has a secret discount shelf in the back

Went in for a single tube of burnt sienna and found a whole rack of half-price paints because someone returned them after opening the box, and it made me wonder how many other stores hide their best deals like that has anyone else stumbled on a backroom sale?

Respectfully disagree. That "secret discount shelf" stuff is usually just damaged goods or closeouts they couldn't sell otherwise, not some hidden treasure trove. Most stores already clear out returns and open boxes through their normal sales or markdown racks.

Respectfully disagree" - wow, you really think that? I'd be thrilled to find half-price paints no matter why they're back there, damaged box or not. If you're getting a good deal on supplies you'd buy anyway, that's basically a treasure hunt win in my book.
