Tried going with the cheapest movers last month and it was a disaster

I was choosing between a company that quoted me $850 and another that wanted $1200 for a 2 bedroom move in Portland. I went with the cheaper one to save cash and honestly I regretted it immediately. They showed up 2 hours late, dropped my dresser on the sidewalk and chipped a corner, and then tried to charge me extra for stairs that were already in the contract. Has anyone else had a similar experience with budget moving companies?
