Used to read every 5 star review first, now I sort by 2 and 3 stars

Switched about a year ago after a $40 blender with 900 five star reviews showed up with a cracked base and a return label already peeling off. The 2 star reviews are where people actually say stuff like 'the lid leaks after two weeks,' which no 5 star reviewer ever mentions. Nobody writes a 2 star review unless something real bugged them, so is that where you all start too?
