Vent: I left a one star review for a local moving company and they offered me a full refund to take it down
I hired 'City Movers' last month and they were 4 hours late, broke a lamp, and charged me $50 more than the quote. I wrote a detailed review about it on their Google page. Two days later, the owner called me directly and said he'd refund the entire $800 if I deleted my review. It felt wrong, like he was trying to buy a good reputation instead of earning it. But part of me thinks a full refund is fair for the trouble. Has anyone else been offered money to remove a negative review? What would you do?

That's just paying for silence, not fixing the problem.

ngl that's wild that he got your number from the booking info just to call you about the review. kinda creepy honestly that they'd track you down like that for what's basically a bad rating. still, $800 is a lot of cash to just walk away from.

The owner called you directly? That's a huge overstep, getting your number from the booking info just to make this offer. They're more worried about their image than actually making things right with the broken stuff.
