A client's simple comment about a drawer pull made my month
I was installing a custom kitchen in a small bungalow in Portland, and the homeowner was watching me work. After I put the last drawer front on, she just stared at it for a minute. She pointed to a specific pull I'd chosen and said, 'You put that one there because it's the one you grab most, right? It feels perfect.' I'd spent maybe 30 minutes laying out the hardware, and she noticed the thought behind it. That kind of quiet observation from a client is better than any big compliment. Do you have a moment where a small detail you added got noticed?

That's a great story, but I have to point out a drawer pull isn't something you grab. You pull it. The hardware is for opening, not holding onto while you work. Maybe she meant the one you use most? The one for the silverware drawer or a big pot lid cabinet. Those get constant use, so the feel really matters. It's cool she saw the care you put into placing it just right.

Totally get that! Had a client notice I'd matched the wood grain pattern across two cabinet doors once. Felt amazing when they pointed it out.
