I used to swear by pocket hole joinery until I tried loose tenons

For years I was all about pocket holes for everything. Quick, easy, and I got good results. Then I built a dining table for a client in Portland last fall. After 6 months the top started showing slight separation at the joints. Pocket holes expand and contract with humidity. I switched to loose tenons on my next project and the difference was night and day. The joint is way stronger and moves as one piece. Am I the only one who took this long to make the switch?

Oh man, better late than never right? I was still out here using pocket holes like they were the holy grail of joinery until my stuff started waving at me during humid months.
