One comment about my drawer slides changed how I build everything now

A customer in Spokane told me my soft-close slides felt cheap because I was screwing them in too tight and flexing the rail, so I backed off to hand tight plus a quarter turn on all my installs and the action got way smoother, anyone else got a tiny fix like that that made a big difference?

Ever try putting a tiny bit of paste wax on the screw threads before you drive them? I started doing that after a cabinet guy showed me and it's the same deal as what you found, you get way more feel for when the screw actually bottoms out instead of just cranking till it stops. Without wax the threads grab and you think it's tight when really you're just fighting friction. With the wax you can feel the rail seat and stop right there, hand tight plus that quarter turn hits the same spot every time. Did the same thing on hinge plates too and my doors quit sagging after a year.
