That time I ruined a $400 sheet of plywood with a dull blade

I was at a shop in Portland last month cutting maple ply for a high-end kitchen job and my blade started charring EVERYTHING. Turned out I had been using the same 60-tooth blade for 8 months without realizing how dull it got. When's the last time you actually checked your table saw blade for sharpness?

Has anyone else here ever spent 20 minutes trying to figure out why their cut looks like a beaver chewed it, only to realize they've been using the same blade since the Obama administration? I finally swapped mine out last week and it was like going from a butter knife to a lightsaber. The charred edges on my last project looked like I was trying to make barbecue out of walnut ply.

Dude I once used a circular saw blade so dull it caught fire.
