Tried a French cleat system for my shop cabinets vs. standard shelving and it's night and day

I finally swapped out my old particle board shelves for a full French cleat wall setup in my garage last month. The difference in how much I can store and access my tools is ridiculous, like I gained a whole extra workbench worth of space. My dado blades and sanders used to sit in a pile, now they hang organized and ready to grab in under 2 seconds. The best part is I can rearrange everything in 10 minutes without drilling new holes or patching drywall. Has anyone else made the switch from static cabinets to modular wall systems and felt the same way?

Like I gained a whole extra workbench worth of space" - that's exactly how I felt! I did the same thing with my pegboard and French cleat wall last spring. My router bits and orbital sander used to be buried in a box under the bench, now they're right there on the wall. I love that I can just slide the cleats around when I get a new tool too.

Managed to hang my router too high the first time, had to redo the bracket because I couldn't reach it without a step stool. Now all my stuff is right at eye level, feels like the whole garage actually works for me now.
