Why does everyone keep using pocket screws on face frames?
I've been in this trade for about 15 years and I keep seeing new guys use pocket screws on face frames where the joint will be visible. Last week I had to fix a kitchen where the customer could see all 12 screws on the upper cabinet doors. Am I the only one who thinks dowels or biscuits still have their place here?

Yeah man, totally agree. Biscuits or even good old dowels are still the way to go for anything visible, pocket screws are just lazy shortcuts for the face frame stuff that's actually meant to be seen.

Funny you mention dowels, I once tried to use a chopstick in a pinch and it actually held a shelf together for like three years before I finally fixed it right.
