A customer in Austin told me my cable runs were 'a spiderweb' and it stuck with me
I was finishing up a job last month, running a new line to a home office. The homeowner, an older guy, watched me work and then just said, 'Son, that looks like a spiderweb back there.' He wasn't mad, just honest. I looked at my work and realized I'd been so focused on getting signal that I'd let the lines get messy behind the entertainment center. It was functional, but not clean. Since then, I've added an extra 15 minutes to every job just for cable management. I keep a bag of those Velcro one-wrap ties in my truck now and I actually route things along baseboards or use existing wire channels. The jobs look way more professional, and I've gotten two callbacks just from people liking how neat it was. Has anyone else had a simple piece of feedback that really changed a small part of your routine?

Wow, I used to think function was everything, but that comment would change my mind too.

Honestly, does a little mess behind a TV really matter that much? People never see it once the furniture is back. Spending extra time on hidden cables feels like making your bed just to mess it up again.
