Back in 2015, I'd spend 20 minutes hand-fishing a drop through a finished ceiling. Now I just use a glow rod and a magnet.

Honestly, the real game changer for me was realizing how much less dust and mess the magnet method makes. You're not shaking a whole grid of ceiling tiles and insulation anymore. It feels almost lazy, but then you get the job done in two minutes and remember it's just smarter.

I spent years doing it the hard way with a ladder and a mess. Tried the magnet trick last month and now I feel dumb for not switching sooner.

The first time I saw a guy use a glow rod and a magnet on a job I was like "no way that works." Took him maybe 90 seconds to fish a wire through a finished ceiling I was getting ready to spend 15 minutes on. Its wild how once you see one simple trick like that it makes you question all the other stuff you still do the hard way. Ngl I think about this with home maintenance all the time. Like how I used to hand tighten every screw in a new piece of furniture until I finally borrowed a friends power drill for a bookshelf. Suddenly Im wondering why I spent years doing things the long way just because nobody showed me a better method.
