Boss made us use those new compression fittings on a job in Arlington last week
Last Tuesday we had a new construction run in Arlington and the foreman insisted we switch to those push-on compression fittings instead of standard crimp rings. Half the connections failed the signal test and we had to redo the whole 12-unit building by Friday afternoon. Am I the only one who thinks sticking with the tried and true methods saves more time in the long run?

Why do bosses always learn the hard way?

...I just don't get why they keep pushing these new fittings when the old ones worked fine. We had the same thing happen on a job last month and it turned into a whole weekend of fixing stuff. The push-on ones are fine for small repairs but on a whole building they just don't hold up. Feels like the people making these decisions never actually have to use the stuff themselves.
