Can we talk about the time I saw a guy in Omaha use a regular drill for everything?

I was on a group job for a new apartment complex there about six months ago. This installer was just using his cordless drill to drive cable staples into baseboards and drywall. He said it was 'fast enough' and he didn't need a staple gun. Well, he split three baseboards and the super made us replace them on our own time. I used to think a drill was the only tool you needed in the truck... but that day changed my mind. What's the one tool you guys would never skip on a job now?

Guy had the right idea, speed is money. Sometimes you gotta make do with what's in the truck, not what's in the catalog. A split board is cheaper than buying and hauling a whole other tool for one job.
