Finally caved and bought a decent toner for my kit after a year of guessing
I spent about $80 on a Fluke toner last month after fighting with a cheap $15 one that just couldn't handle busy bundles. It paid for itself on a messy commercial job downtown when I traced 8 lines in under an hour. Has anyone else found a big jump in quality between budget and mid-range toners?

My Fluke cost $80 and I was pissed for a second but it found a nightmare cable in a 200-pair bundle in 5 minutes. The cheap ones just go silent when there's cross talk from other active lines. Worth every penny for the time saved alone.

That's exactly what happened with me too @aaron_wilson17 - my cheap toner just faded out completely on a crowded bundle and the Fluke cut right through it like nothing.
